Susan has given me the strength to dig deep in the sea of my soul to find out who I am and what is right for me. I have learned many tips to deal with life in general. I learned how to "tune into myself", trust my gut and not wear my heart on my sleeve. I take her tools with me and I use them as I proceed through life. On many occasions I have reached back when a bit of confusion set in and sorted things out as she and I did together. Susan has brought much joy to my world. B.M.
"I just wanted to thank you. My life is quite happy, calm, and fulfilling now. I really do not think I could have achieved this without your wisdom and caring. There have been so many barriers that I have crossed with your guidance. I still have some to get over, but many of the lifelong barriers are behind me now. You have a wonderful gift, the gift of healing. I hope all of your dreams come true too! Thanks for helping me change my life. You are the Shaquille O'Neal of counseling!!" P.B.
I have made several positive changes in my life since attending counseling with Susan. My self-esteem and confidence levels have improved greatly. She is helping me to discover exactly what is holding me back from achieving the success I desire. I feel as though I am in control of my life now and the sense of empowerment is wonderful! Thank you, Susan." P. K.
When I arrived for my first session with Susan, I had no idea how much personal growth lay in store for me. I was struggling with financial issues, relationship issues, and more. The work was hard at times, but today my life is much more fulfilling than I could ever have imagined. Along the way I discovered that I have the power to make my life change for the better. The first step for me on that path began with my decision to see Susan for the first time. I have much yet to accomplish, but now with her help I feel empowered. I think everyone could benefit from her unique and insightful perspectives. I could never be able to put into words the positive impact Susan Costello has made in my life. I can not recommend her highly enough. Give her a try. I am confident you will not be disappointed. S.D.
Susan Costello has provided me with a constant sounding board to help me through a combination of the remnants of a felony trial for my son, an extramarital involvement, a separation and divorce, and the death of an aunt, uncle and my dog during the past 18 months. Her insightful questioning and probing have helped me face my own inconsistencies and helped me start to establish more honest and direct relationships as an adult. Personally, I feel that I can breathe more freely again and move on positively with my life. Her approach includes a sense of perspective and humor about life. J.M.
"I moved to Cambridge, MA and discovered many folks going to psychotherapy. This was a new idea to me, so I ventured and got Susan Costello's number from my health insurance list. My intention was to get over a past attachment as quickly as possible and move on with my life. Little did I know what therapy could do for me in every aspect of my life. Susan's approach is warm, professional and gentle yet effective. She knows how to get to the heart of the matter without me wanting to run away. In the past few years, I have worked with Susan off and on, and somehow she's fit me into her schedule every time. She always knows when it's a good time to stop for a while, too. Connecting and building trust with a therapist is an important key to success in therapy. With Susan Costello, I've found my connection. L.L.
I am very grateful to have had you as my therapist. You were always so present when we met and I always felt like you were on my side. Also, I truly value your honesty with me as well as your wisdom and advice. C.W.
I have relied on Susan Costello intermittently for many years. She has supported me through extraordinary life circumstances. As a grief counselor, she is compassionate, clear and free of platitudes. Anyone suffering a major loss or severe depression will be safe and supported with Susan Costello. I would (and have) trusted those closest to me to her care. S. G.
I have had the privilege of working with Susan off and on for awhile. Over this time I have had to confront a myriad of situations, life changes, and problems which were very difficult. Susan shared with me a great number of problem solving and coping skills to help me through the tough times, and help me to celebrate the good times. I highly recommend her as a therapist. T. N.
"Susan has changed my life. She has helped me get back to the person I used to be, the person who I lost along the way because I was too busy trying to make everyone else happy. She has helped me to let go of my anger, sadness, fears and insecurities. Susan has given me the ability to remember my own self worth, strengths, and my zest for life. Not only did I get ME back, but I got ME back 10 times better than I was before. I am so very thankful to her for all she has given me and for who she is as a person. I am very blessed to have her in my life. I know that if my son were able to communicate better, he would say thank you, too, for giving his mommy back to him. I would highly recommend anyone who ever needs a confidante and counselor to go see Susan. She saved me from drowning and taught me how to not only swim but to fly." C.M. |
"Thanks for being so supportive and helpful in my years of need! You're truly a wonderful person and I'm so glad I found you." S.T.
"You can be assured that I have found a stronger voice and advocate within myself because of our sessions together. I have a notebook full of Susan's personally tailored wisdom and "Susanisms" to help keep me stay on course. Your family is VERY lucky to have you as a Mom and Wife, and they should be proud of how many people you help that struggle to learn how to author and navigate their own lives. You do it with such compassion and with great respect for your clients' vulnerabilities. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me to begin to author my own life, apart from the tugging needs of my immediate and extended family." P.A.
"My work with Susan has literally changed my life. Events from my past changed me into someone I was not comfortable being. Over the past year I have been able to rediscover who I am and who I want to continue to become. I couldn't have done it with out her." M.E.
"I couldn't say enough good things about Susan as a therapist. I have been in therapy for about 10 years and have seen many therapists, and Susan has stood out far above the rest. I have made more progress with her than I have made with any others. Her kind, gentle approach and solid sound advice always have me leaving her office with hope for the future." B.K.
"During a difficult time in my life - ending a long-term marriage - Susan helped me to clarify and understand my emotions and identify goals. She helped me to antipicate changes and identify options to implement change. Her warm and compassionate manner and steady encouragement guided me from a state of ambivalence and sadness to optimism and strength. Our counseling sessions were tremendously supportive to me." S. R.
"Susan is someone I can truly be myself with. I feel so safe telling her what's going on with me. When I first started working with her, I was experiencing alot of anxiety along with low self-esteem. Susan has a very gentle way of pointing out what my strengths are, when sometimes all I can see are my weaknesses. Because of Susan, my self-esteem has much improved, and my anxiety has lessened dramatically. Susan is a very positive woman. She has helped me to become the stronger, more capable individual that she has seen in me all along. I look forward to every session with Susan." G. M.
"Making the decision to seek counseling was not one that I took lightly. From our very first session, Susan demonstrated the highest level of empathy and insight possible. Her compassion allowed me to feel comfortable enough to become vulnerable to the hard work ahead of me. It was never easy; however, I never had to do it alone. She has been walking beside me on this journey every step of the way. With her guidance and focus, I have consistently moved forward towards more insight and greater understanding. Her questions allow me to explore a situation from various angles and points of view. Her understanding provides me with the scaffolding to question my own actions, thoughts and beliefs in order to cultivate the life I know I want, I deserve and ultimately, the one I can have. My life was spinning towards destruction as a result of many significant factors far beyond my control; however, with her insight I was able to create a level of peace in my life that I had never known prior to starting this work. Only you can change your life; however, Susan will raise you up and support you every step of the way." H.S.
"I would like to say that my experience with Susan Costello was very beneficial and refreshing. Using the tools she gave me I no longer need any medication. I highly recommend her.............very highly." K. H.
"Four years ago I found myself looking for a lifeline and purpose in life. A year and a half ago I decided to do something about it. That something was e-mailing Susan Costello. I can't tell you how hard taking that first step and asking for help was for me. I can't tell you how much it has enriched my life. Susan helped me find my way to a place of peace and clarity that I have never had. I feel free and unencumbered of any negative self talk! Susan wove magic with my defenses and self taught skills. I always thought of her as a master weaver and juggler of my pain, ignorance and intelligence. I didn't always like what I saw in myself and what I heard. I've always been very sensitive to critique. Her empathy and understanding of even negative human nature is probably one of her greatest gifts to me. She became a teacher and mentor to me. She will hear the pain of past hurts and rejections and with the greatest care takes them out to be processed. She works in layers and dimensions of the past and present that is truly amazing. I read Susan's testimonials for at least a year before contacting her. I have since sent three friends to her and will recommend her to anyone that has lost their way or never yet found it. What I said to them was, "Run, don't walk to Susan Costello." She really is all that! I will never listen to any old recordings of self- doubt and or hate again." S. K.
